The 21st  FIFA World Cup Soccer tournament is scheduled to be held between June 14 and  July 15, 2018 in Russia . 32 teams from various countries will participate in the tournament. The final will be decided in Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium; The winner will automatically qualify for the FIFA Football Confederation Cup in 2021.

It will be the first time that the tournament takes place in Russia. FIFA announced on 2 December 2010 the country organizing the tournament (along with the country hosting the tournament in Q22, Qatar). Eleven countries have made themselves available as candidates.




The South African national Football team could not qualify for the tournament and therefore will not participate. The teams of Panama and Iceland may participate in a Soccer World Cup tournament for the first time.

Russia was chosen by FIFA in Zurich on 2 December 2010 as host of the FIFA Soccer World Cup in 2018. Other candidate countries were England, a joint application by the Netherlands and Belgium as well as Spain and Portugal.




The games are divided into two phases, namely the group finals and the declining phase. The lottery was held in Moscow Kremlin on December 1, 2017.

32 teams will participate in the group finals Of the Football World Cup2018. The top two teams in each group penetrate the second round (the knockout).
