The 2016 Summer Olympics , [1] which is known as the Games of the 31st Olympiad are an international sporting event to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 until 21 August 2016. It will be 31st times organizing the Summer Olympic Games under the auspices of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
More than 10,500 athletes from 206 countries are expected to participate in the races, with two new entrants countries, Kosovo and South Sudan.With 306 sets of medals, the Games will include 28 Olympic sports, including rugby Seven and courses, added by the International Olympic Committee in 2009.
These sporting events (Rio 2016 Olympic Games) will take place at 33 sites in the host city and in 5 areas in São Paulo city (largest city in Brazil), Belo Horizonte, Salvador, Brasília (capital of Brazil) and Manaus.
The Rio de Janeiro as host City was announced in the 121st IOC Session held in Copenhagen, Denmark on October 2, 2009. Rio would become the first the South American city hosting the Summer Olympics. These will also be the first Games to be held in a Portuguese-speaking country, the first since 1968 to be held in Latin America and the first since 2000 to be held in the southern hemisphere.
Experts in public health have called for the postponement of the Rio Olympic Games because of the risk of Zika virus spreading. Nevertheless, the organizing committee of the Games has confirmed that the organization will normally take place . Even in areas that will be sailing and swimming are even floating corpses and garbage.A total of 207 countries are taking part in the races.
